Based on a real life close encounter with a Motmot captured in sketches and watercolor studies... Momot is a part of the results of a three week residency in Monteverde, Costa Rica. I set up to explore and document the Cloud Forest with a refreshed intake of the first explorers of the neotropics. The short film was shot and edited taking advantage of the limitations of a homemade movie; using bird and frog songs recorded in the forest and documenting real life stages of the sketching and painting process in the studio.
My congratulations. What a wonderful video and what a wonderful illustration. In Spain we do not have the colors of the tropics, but we can enjoy some relative of the momot such as the roller, which is very similar, or the kingfisher and the bee-eater, which are the most tropical of our birdlife if we do not take into account those that have arrived much later and the poor things are considered invasive and exotic.

It is so good. The film beautifully captures the essence of the Cloud Forest exploration and the fnf artistic process in a truly captivating way.
